Welcome to the Saturday Concert (3feb2024, 3pm) with Lisa Daehlin (soprano) & Sonja Thompson (pianist). Featuring compositions by Samuel Barber, Stefania de Kenessey, Ellen Mandel, & Edvard Grieg.

SONJA THOMPSON
 is a collaborative pianist/organist based in Minneapolis. Her professional interests include art song, chamber music and Music-Theater, and she has enjoyed performing, teaching, conducting and coaching in higher education, opera/theatre and liturgical settings.

LISA DAEHLIN (in some circles known as an “Opera Chanteuse”) performs a wide range of repertoire in a variety of styles and settings. In New York City, Lisa has frequently performed at St. Paul’s Chapel, Interchurch Center, Cornelia Street Café, City Center, The Players Club, Lincoln Center, Algonquin’s Oak Room. European concerts in Italy, Germany, and in Scandinavia as an invited singer for the International Edvard Grieg Society in Bergen, Norway. Her concert repertoire focuses extensively on Norwegian, French and American Chanson, Cabaret, Classical, Opera, Sacred, and Art Song. Her one-woman show Twisted Stitch: Songs of Love and Knitting was featured in the Classical to Jazz Festival at Cornelia Street Café (NYC), weaving together songs of Grieg, Schubert, Yeston and a world premier cycle of songs written for her voice by Stefania de Kenessey. Chosen as recipient of a Cultural Grant Award by the American Scandinavian Society. Awarded a Masters Degree in Music and Music Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, Lisa operates a private voice studio in New York City.
