– KNITTING for BEGINNERS, starting January 27th, 2017, six Tuesday evenings, 7-9pm
Knitting provides a world of fabric-making options. Using the simplicity, contrast and harmony of the knit and purl stiches, we learn the basics of this time-honored tradition: how to get the stitches onto and off of the needles, and what happens in between. Basic increasing, decreasing, texture and pattern reading. Quickly gain the skills to make scarves, hats and bags.
– CROCHET for BEGINNERS, starting February 28th, 2017, six Tuesday evenings, 7-9pm
Crochet creates fabrics with infinite varieties of patterns and textures. Learn the basics of this flexible and creative technique: foundation chain, single crochet, double crochet, slip stitch. Quickly gain the skills to make scarves, hats, blankets, and bags.

Lisa Daehlin is a knitting designer and opera chanteuse. She has taught fiber arts at The Cooper Union, Newark Museum, PS122 Gallery, Harlem Knitting Circle, Vogue Knitting LIVE and the American Folk Art Museum in New York. A sought-after designer of knitted and crocheted fabrics and objects, she free-lances for the fashion industry and retail design. Her designs can be seen walking the streets of Manhattan, gracing the pages of Interweave Knits, Knit.1, Knit Simple and Vogue Knitting magazines as well as featured in Lace Style, Bag Style and The New TunisianCrochet books published by Interweave Press, and Vogue Knitting: Ultimate Hat Book and Vogue Knitting: Shawls and Wraps by Sixth and Spring Books.
