My eye and my spirit find great pleasure in these two lace-making techniques. It’s only one reason why I love singing their praises – whether when teaching them in workshops, or including them as subject matter in a cabaret show. Hairpin Lace and Broomstick Lace Crochet allow for a lovely drape in the fabrics they create (drape, a sometimes elusive thing in certain types of crochet). Vogue chose one of my shawls (which combines these techniques in some not-all-that-usual ways) to be included among the fashions in the Spring 2013 Vogue Knitting Crochet Issue.
